Description: Participants in this series will learn how Project-Based Learning (PBL) can be used with all levels of ESOL learners to create engaging, theme-based lessons where learners have a voice. In the first session, examples of projects appropriate for beginning through advanced levels will be shown and the benefits and challenges of PBL in ESOL remote learning will be discussed. Participants will learn tips for setting up PBL and have the opportunity to sketch out their ideas for PBL in their own classes. In the second session, participants will share their detailed plan and receive feedback from the facilitator and their colleagues. Additional feedback from the facilitator will be provided between sessions as needed. Before the final session, participants are expected to implement their PBL and to then share outcomes in the final session.
